Holocaust survivor and Nazi hunter Josef Lewkowicz, now 93 and based in Israel, rescued hundreds of Jewish child refugees displaced during the war and living in monasteries and orphanages in Poland. Lewkowicz, the sole surviving member of his family, worked as an intelligence offer for the US Army and went on to capture Nazi war criminal Amon Goeth, a Plaszow concentration camp commandant.
We were honored to hear his story as part of our ongoing holocaust education series.
