SHAPELL’S AND MRC MARK THE 1ST YAHRZEIT OF MR. DAVID SHAPELL Z”L

Last Thursday night Shapell’s and Midreshet Rachel v’Chaya commemorated the first yahrzeit of Mr. David Shapell z”l. The student body, faculty and alumni were joined by Mrs. Fela Shapell, along with Ben and Susan Shapell, and their daughter, Rachel. They heard words of Torah and tribute from Rabbi Shaya Karlinsky and Cantor Binyamin Glickman, long time friend of the Shapell family. Ben Shapell shared some words of tribute to his father, and why our institutions were so important to David and to the entire family.

Alumnus Dan Ritz, visiting Israel from Passaic with his wife Edna, announced the successful campaign to create the David Shapell z”l Memorial Married Couples Fellowship. He shared inspiring words, recounting the time they spent learning together in our married couples’ program in 1991, and why the continuing impact that experience has had on their lives created the motivation of making the lead gift in this campaign.
